We use the information that you provide about someone else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.

We use identifiable information, which you provide, when activating you account associated with your subscription to the MIICE products and services. We also use your information, which you provide, in connection with the MIICE products and services as defined by you. When you elect to allow emergency access to certain information, we will make available the information that you have selected both through our online services and telephony services, when applicable. The choice to allow emergency access to your information is a consent to provide that data as “public” data. The election of certain information to be shared in this manner indicates your intent to share that information in the event that you are unable to do so. Information shared in this manner is only as secure as the media over which the information is transmitted. Certain shared information may use calculated values instead of actual values. For example, to determine the age of an individual and to protect the privacy of the individual’s actual birth date, disclosed information could use a calculated age.

We use information associated with children differently. Please refer to “Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy” to learn more about emergency access to children’s information.

Exceptions

Except as described above, we will not otherwise use or disclose any of your personal information except to: correct any errors or omissions; protect the security of our website and services; protect the privacy rights of others; protect against liability, or to the extent required by law.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Medit Corporation uses dedicated servers, located in locked, secured areas. Access to these servers is limited to employees of Medit Corporation or parties contracted in the maintenance, service, and upgrading of our website. We employ data encryption during data transfer when you are logged into your account, or when your information is accessed online. Your data, which you elect to share through our phone services, is not necessarily secure. Careful consideration should be made in determining what information you elect to share in an emergency situation through the election of allowing emergency access to the data field. Even with our best efforts to protect such data, the potential for misuse, abuse, or theft of information remains and users must weigh the advantages against the potential risks.

To achieve the best effort in protecting the security of your data, we recommend that you use the latest technology and security software on the computer you use to enter your data. We recommend that you do not disclose your account number, username, or password with anyone, and that when you are finished visiting our site, you logoff and close your browser session.

Cookies

You should be aware that when you visit our website, we may collect certain information that does not identify you personally, but provides us with usage data, such as the number of visitors we receive or what pages are visited most often. This data provides useful information to us so that we may enhance the quality and integrity of the site. A “cookie” is an element of data that a website can send to a browser when you link to that website. It has no ability to read data residing on your computer, or perform any step or function. A “cookie” does not extract any personal information about you. Most browsers provide a way that will enable you to control whether you want to receive cookies by notifying you when a website is about to deposit a cookie file.

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important to us. Although our services can provide services for minors, it is our intent that an adult oversee and control the access and content of the information pertaining to a child. For that reason, identifiable information submitted on behalf of a minor by a parent, guardian, or caregiver will not be allowed to be accessed other than by the individual who controls the account for the minor. For example, a minor’s name may be entered in the name field so that a person controlling the account would know who the account pertains to, however, the minor’s name will never be allowed to be accessed outside the account. In order to determine the age of the individual for which the information in the account refers to, the individual’s actual birth date is a required field when activating the account. The birth date, calculated age, or any other identifiable information within the data set will be blocked from access outside the account. For this reason, we recommend that you do not enter any information in a child’s account other than what may be necessary for their medical treatment. We do recommend that you include multiple emergency contacts for the account. An example of this is an account for a child who has a severe food allergy to peanuts. As a parent, you want to make that information shareable and include your contact information along with the contact information of other family members. In the event of an emergency, first responders would know the child has a severe food allergy to peanuts and they would know to contact you so that you could provide additional information.

Do not use this site or services for minors if you are aware of applicable laws that restrict the use of data pertaining to minors.
